FEAR NOT
I am so pleased to have
this opportunity to share with you, a piece I made for myself when I was facing
some life changes that were causing me a great deal of anxiety. I was at a point
where the decisions I had to make had basically paralyzed me into inaction and I
knew that definitely wasn't the answer. As I was drifting off to sleep one night
(or trying to, since I was worrying so much I was barely sleeping) the words on
this piece came into my mind almost as if someone had spoken them aloud. I don't
claim to know where they came from but I do know that they were the turning
point for me. I began to move forward and, while the path hasn't been
continually smooth, I am so grateful that I did. What has been really gratifying
about turning those words into a piece of jewelry is that it seems to have
touched so many others. Friends and strangers alike have all responded to it in
such a variety of ways that I decided it might be of value to offer it to
others, and now, here it is.
The reasons people have asked me for it are extensive. They have requested it for friends and family members who are facing illnesses or other crises, for people who are starting new chapters in their lives, or taking on new challenges, for people who have retreated a bit from life, or just to remind themselves that they are worthy of their dreams. One man even asked for it for someone who had been badly hurt in a love relationship and whom he was hoping might find the courage to love again.
ABOUT THE PIECE
I will be releasing this piece to selected local stores on June 1st but I have been making small batches of them available early because there are some people who haven't been able to wait. I have just completed a new batch and will continue making them as they are requested. I will be posting a list of store locations in early June and the pieces will also continue to be available through this website.
I made this pendant in solid, non-tarnish Sterling Silver for a couple of reasons. The main reason is that I wanted the words to, both literally and figuratively, have weight. The other is more selfish in that I was always so disappointed when the chocolate bunnies I got at Easter turned out to be hollow. (I'm only sort of kidding). Actually, from an artistic point of view, I just prefer it when objects are balanced both visually and physically - in other words, if it looks solid, it should be.
The heart measures approximately 1" X 1" and has a polished finish. It is available with the chain shown in either a 16" or 18" length; with a thin, black leather cord in either 16" or 18" length; or on a key-chain attachment. The heart can also be purchased without text.
